I made this cause I have been asked how I make my planets. If you find this helpful please fav it so others can see it, recomending it to others helps also
The planet looks kinda bad but that is because I made it inside of an hour. If you spend more time on yours it will look better. If you have any questions dont hesitate to ask me

Thanks for this tutorial. I'm getting a lot of ideas from it. Just wondering. Could you possibly give insight on how to make realistic looking clouds in the atmosphere? That's always the hardest thing for me

pretty awesome. I will certainly need to find something like this for Gimp(too cheap to buy full version of photoshop and not in an art course so cannot get it cheap.). But this is something I need to learn so that I can give space ships something to be around other than generic star fields.

I'm really not sure why the date of submission is a problem? If its a great tutorial, and its techniques and styles are still as valid and useful today as they were in 2006 surely that implies its an excellent tutorial and one that should be seen and used by more people regardless of its age?
I wonder if you would have the same issue if it was something you had submitted several years ago getting the DD.. just out of curiosity?

Yeah I would. I feel DD's should be something... more up-to-date. Something that shows the new that is coming into dA.

Most DDs are more recent; but thats no reason to ignore good art that might be a little older. People don't stop going to museums just because most of the art there is a few hundred years old. Thats the thing about art and wine, a little vintage is never a bad thing.
