Okay, well I made a costume recently that is a very fiery color scheme so I had this brilliant idea to make a matching necklace that looked like flame and smoke... so I designed it on paper and took it to the computer and it looked like it was going to be perfect. Unfortunately the designs don't always look like the final piece and I hated it. So I played with it, mutilated it, and overworked it to death and came up with this. I'm not happy with it as a necklace, but I wanted to document it at this stage. I may just leave this one, but it has given me ideas that I will hopefully flesh out very soon.

Ahhh pretty... You have a wonderful way with chainwork I know what you mean when you say you see something in your mind and it won't come out right. I imagine things like this and only get the weave bloody mess... >_<

Beautiful. I love the colors, and the way it falls so perfectly on the neck/shoulders. I have to point out that it's a pretty lovely photo as well.

i like this piece, though i think you are right with the fire and smoke element not being right. i find it more earthy, as in a volcano and the destruction it can bring is somehow contained. perhaps your dislike of the piece has been transferred to it??? anyhow i still think it is a great piece but darker than mere fire and smoke...more....brooding perhaps? and THAT is why i like it....:cuddles:

It really is a nice design,but it almost is too 'busy' in the front if that makes sense. Anyway nice piece.

Hmm, yeah I can see that actually... I was thinking of dropping the center chains lower to pull it away from the chain drapes a bit. It might open up the design and pull the eyes a bit lower too, ya know? Thanks for the comment!

I played with it a bit, and ended up turning into a headdress. It's very decorative, but I think it works. I will try to get pics up soon.

Thanks. I swear it has to be the perspective somehow... Once I saw the pics, I tried to *make* that section fall forward, and couldn't and it's only this angle that looks like that. Optical illusion? A fluke? ...My bad? ...Who knows.

I can understand how designs on paper turn out strange in execution, but I believe this to be an interesting piece. I think it would be perfect with the right dress.

I do sell through my site, though faire season is gearing up over here which means for the next few months I'll be spending more time rehearsing and costuming then getting commissions done.
