Description attempt #2 . . . same concept, same number of decades. a bit higher (which is what I wanted) but not tighter. very comfortable, actually.

antiqued gold-over-brass center, antique crystal dividers & teardrop, gold floral caps, hand-turned links, garnet czech glass beads.

this one wasn't a commission. it was mostly just me trying out new shades and whatnot. trying to refine the design. please let me know what you think, as there may be more versions of this in the future, and I need to know if they are worth the effort!

this has a home now!

Your sense of design is amazing. I simply adore everything I've seen.

awwww . .

thanks so much! I keep getting told I need to teach a class locally on how to make these, but I'm really unsure myself how I do them. stitching and such have been pleasant distractions for me since childhood . . it's how my mom kept 3 girls (all born within a 3 year period) out of mischief! never thought much about it, but apparently it's a rare gift! one I am trying to pass on to my daughter.

I am gradually teaching myself how to sew. (Although I have to get my husband to thread the bobbin almost every time, I think the sewing machine hates me...) I think it's a wonderful thing to teach your girl! I am a cake decorator and love to create something beautiful. There is no words that can describe the satisfaction I get from it.

yanno, I have no license to drive one of those! lol .. they sort of intimidate me. after watching my younger sister sew her arm to a shirt in home-ec class, I've done everything by hand! I am a scaredy cat.

oh, I love doing cakes! I've done 3 wedding cakes, all really complicated and lacy-looking . . and it is satisfying! but then, all my artistic diversions are like that for me. it's just indescribable to those who can't create something beautiful with their hands.

You're just one surprise after another. The back is very unique, never seen anything like this before. Luv the centrepiece and...and...well, the whole thing. I'll tell you what........you don't have time for a trade on your latest request and I don't really need the money, would you consider this?......Trading for a few of your centrepieces. For the life of me, I can't find stuff like this.......but would really like a few in my inventory for future projects. Give it some thought and let me know what you think.

awww, thanks hun! I try to be innovative if nothing else. which is harder than it looks somedays! lol.

ooooh . . . trade one of your lovely creations for some centerpieces? that is totally do-able! how many do you think would equal a fair trade? I will start sorting through them while you think about a good number! any style in particular you'd like most?

YES!! No, I'm not picky on style. As for the number....I'm not sure. Does 4 or 5 sound about right?

Gotta say Bethany, this is such a stunning design! I do think these will be worth doing more of! They just come across so graceful and flattering when worn.

On another note- the red looks lovely here!

awww, thanks hun!

inspiration is a funny thing, eh? lol. but this one in particular is occupying an awful lot of my brain space. I just like the way it looks . . . the way it hugs the neck. like an embrace, almost. *shrugs* don't know why I am so enamoured of this concept! but I am. and so long as others like it, there will be more! bet it would look great in pearl . . .. hmmmm . .. . ..

HiddenRelevance In reply to redLillith [2007-02-16 18:02:01 +0000 UTC]

Well, *trying to piece it together* as a spiritual piece it SHOULD be an embrace.. I guess that's the way it feels to me. I love rosaries as a whole, but this style makes me think of a rosary surround YOU with prayers.. does that make any sense at all?

it makes perfect sense! thank you for putting it so succinctly. I was having one of those "groping in the dark for words" moments. and for giving me a better phrase to describe it with!
