Eh, I figured that I needed at least one picture of Vivienne, a rather important mage in my novel Destinée de la Lionne, and also Alex and Cayleigh's teacher prior to their own mage-ship-ment...a lovely lady who has quite a bit of misfortune. The picture depicts her at a younger age, before all the stress of handling Alex and Cay turns her hair white (ok, not really, but she likes to say so), from the brief description given in the story via another character:

Drake chuckled. “Even out here in the middle of nowhere, you still see beautiful women enough that one more isn’t too much of a shock to your system; but Vivienne was a handsome lass when she came here, with those amazing eyes – strike me dead if over half the lads here didn’t fall head over heels in love with her on sight.”

Vivienne is well known for her eyes, which Alex describes as a pair of bottomless aquamarine eyes (hence the title 'Aquamarine'), and her love of all things teal colored. She was a bit more frivolous in her younger days, tending to dress more conservatively in her old age, but...well...I'm not that great at painting older ladies, so I decided to take the coward's way out and paint her young so hah.

The shackles are symbolic, purely; you don't think she actually walks around with chains on her feet, do you?

...at least, I hope you don't. The chains symbolize the 'chains' that bind all the mages, e.g. Nethemael's blackmail by threatening their loved ones. In Vivi's case, however, it's a bit different; the shackles that bind her are love for her king. A bit different, but still shackles nevertheless. Ironically, it's that love that will eventually be her downfall.

Background is absolute fluff; anatomy went straight to hell (pardon the cursing), I don't know WHAT the heck her body is doing (she's supposed to be turning back while running/walking away...I think?)

As you can tell, I didn't spend much time on this...maybe 5-6 hours max. While in a moving car. HEY, I just needed an illustration of her - I did NOT sign up for a detailed painting! Yet...

...don't ask about the vase. Just DON'T.
