Anyway, looks amazing! I especially love the way the little waterfalls look. They really look like they're moving.

From Avannak's story "Hitchups" Chapter 21 when he takes an ax to the back in order to save Toothless.

Another good picture.
It sounds as though this scene will be happening in the next chapter. I know Antic was speculating on how Astrid would come to terms that it was her axe that was used for the blow so there would have to be a scene where she would see the scar.
The water does look great with the way you have it misting. I also like the cracked look to the rocks. We also don't get to see many pictures with Hiccup with his hair loose, so that's good to see how long it really is. Your burns and scars are always done quite well. I see your interpretation has the axe blow going down the line of his spine. I imagined it more on an angle, but this works very, very well. It certainly shows if not for divine intervention, Hiccup would not have survived the blow since the spine would have been severed completely.
My answers to guesses of who he's staring at:
a) he has a mirror set up on a rock and is looking at it. He wanted to get Toothless to hold it, but Toothless would instead stare into it all the time, admiring himself.
b) The New England Fedex delivery guy coming by since Hiccup arranged daily parcel pick up service to bring things to Berk so he doesn't have to interact with the Vikings TOO much.
c) he's realizing that a small band of hikers from New Zealand has set up a campsite in his valley. Part of him wants to hide, but the other part wants to see if they have any cool swag to barter, especially Kiwi beer.

Ah, good sense of humor, Bloodmoon14. Nice! I am still laughing at the correct answer.
But, honestly, given my age, I'm older and one of those non cougary ladies who would be more interested in watching outdoorsy, smart, kind and reasonably fit guys in my age range bathing like that. (Or Chippendales dancers, but that's just a given for any age group of women). If I were to see that image of Hiccup, I think my first thought would be about the scar on his back and whether it affected his movement- that's actually the reaction I had in the picture, but that is probably due to my age. I think if I met your drawing of Hiccup we'd probably get along great as friends, though, chatting about travel stories and pranking each other and cooking up some dishes of cuisines we experienced on our own separate journeys.
Your interpretation of the woundage is fine. We all see the story in different ways, so it is nice to see the interpretations.
I did like the Kiwi hikers, though :bouncing:
