Description
As soon as I heard this song from my favorite band, Simple Plan, I immediately started thinking that this tells how Hiccup feels about his mom and her death. This song was basically the theme song that I listened to the whole time I was drawing this. Vallarahama died when Hiccup was only seven, that's a really younf age to lose someone's mom and now ten years later he's remembering the last gift that she gave him from when she came back from her very last voyage before she died. This is a happy memory but he still feels sad because he really misses her.

She was the parent that Hiccup was the closest to and she was the one who most likely understood him the most because she probably saw a lot of herself within Hiccup. He is eager to learn and always trying his best no matter what, just like her, and he wants to prove himself. But I think that she understood that Hiccup would not be able t really reach his full potential until he got out of Berk and out in the world where he can really spread his wings. But then she died and there was no one who knew how to handle him.

So, so sad.

The rain took some time but I'm glad I got it down, and I think that it adds a nice effect of sorrow here.

This is another one of my hypothetical scenes for Avannak's AMAZING httyd story "Hitchups" on FF.net and here on DA. More specifically I had Chapter 26 in mind when I did this.
