Wow! At first I have not realised the room where the woman stands in. I just looked at the person an was faszinated by her movement. After that I realised the concept of the room. The ground has its focus on the next room and so the next. The wall has a quite unique structure. Moreover, I see that the person seems to be like a ghost because the structure of the ground comes through the legs and the dress. All in all: A mystical image with its own spirit!

At first it seemed quite avant-garde yet looking into its form it isn't, but that does not detract from a wonderfully discrete incongruity. From early photography in the nineteenth century photographers have explored this technique. I love it! I congratulate you.

Thank you for your comment. I was wondering, while reading it: what did you think you saw at first that would have been "avant-garde"? How did the form make you change your perspective? I'm not familiar so I'd love to read more about this...

And yes, it was fun playing with movement capture and transparence in an old fashion way but with digital tools. Most of all, it was interesting to explore the feeling of comfort and yet abandon of the place. Thank you for your interesting comment, it also triggers ideas!

martiuk In reply to BriceChallamel [2011-05-31 10:23:47 +0000 UTC]

Thought initially some vector drawing had been combined elongating and distorting the body. This would be avant-garde for me.

Your use of manipulating the perspective with the same doorway, then a wall completes the picture so well. I even thought the room never existed, but I guess it does. The girl may not have been anywhere near the hacienda, but none of it matters. The final picture is captivating.

I admire your work greatly.

BriceChallamel In reply to martiuk [2011-05-31 12:53:48 +0000 UTC]

I understand! Yes, the girl (my wife, actually...) was in the hacienda. It's the same as "Daydreamer" (the photo on my DA page) but... Well, it's a combination of many shots so I could play with movement, transparency and light by working the layers and each zone of the photograph separately.

It happens that I use vector drawing on my photos, but it's like HDR: I don't like it to show too much...

Thank you very much for this nice and very complete return, I'm very touched by your final statement. It's never meant for this, but it's always comforting to read...

BriceChallamel In reply to darkcrystal1209 [2011-05-29 15:36:21 +0000 UTC]

In the same abandoned hacienda in Mexico where we shot "The Daydreamer", but another room. The place was huge and quite amazing actually... So we inspired from each room to do different type of shots! Photographer's dream really...

Thank you for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoy this
