Thanks! Yes that was the plan. I wanted ALL of my "Allhallowtide" illustrations to look like old Halloween posters from the 1920's or 30's, but just with my style of monsters in them. Some turned out better than others, but that was the idea. And for some unknown reason - this year, I just got hooked on ghosts and cold, dead, white things. So a cool color palette made sense.

Thank you! I am so happy that many people (both here on DA as well as on my Facebook and Instagram accounts) seemed to really enjoy this year's batch of Allhallowtide illustrations. Because... they came very close to NOT happening at all!

I started working on them back in mid-September. Then - out of nowhere - found myself in the hospital with a sudden illness! A staph infection! That pretty much interrupted everything and became a situation that had to be dealt with. It was very nasty for about 2 weeks, but don't worry... all better now.
Anyway, the minute I recovered, I had to play catch-up at my day job, and was positively slammed for the entire month of October. For a few weeks there, all my "personal art projects" had to be put on the shelf and I seriously doubted I would be able to do anything for Halloween 2015 at all.
And then... Around mid-October, my old Halloween instincts just started kicking in, and I got inspired. Ended up cramming ALL my Halloween plans and Allhallowtide illustration work into just a couple of weekends, and somehow managed to get them all done. Hit my big day-job deadline right on time, AND had a great Halloween celebration at home, on top of it. By Sunday November 1st I was so completely exhausted I just laid around the house all day. But somehow, against all odds, it got done!
There's still a PILE of unfinished horror illustrations lying around this place that I was working on (back in August-September, right before my nasty illness occurred) which I still have to get back to, and finish. But for the time being I'm still just relieved I was able to produce something cool for my favorite holiday.

I love the colors you use on these. It makes me wish these were sold as black light posters or with glow in the dark ink/paint
I love the whole concept of the ghost's waiting for their friend to come out to play. "Wake up loser, it's Halloween!"
