Was anybody else super sad about how Alistair and Zevran looked in the second one? Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE the game! But I was a bit disappointed in how my favorite characters looked...Related content

God, this sums up everything I was thinking when I got to those parts of the game. WHY, BIOWARE, WHY?!?!
But in all honesty, Alistair could've looked worse, right? But Zevran...Dear Gods, the Maker finally punished him for his sins, didn't he?
Still, I like to count myself lucky these two and all the others even made cameos at all.

A lot of people thought that Zevran was fugly in the first game (I thought he was distinctly handsome, mind you), but his original appearance had character that the DA2 one lacks. And don't even get me started on Alistair. D:

That's really sad! I will do my best when playing II to ignore the second verse's versions of Alistair and Zevran and mentally insert the previous game ones.
Alistair's change over is bad, but not so terrible that I cringe. The changes don't take him out of the realm of being recognizably Alistair.
Zevran on the other hand....He doesn't even come across as recognizably Zevran!
I understand needing to make Zevran's character conform to the new racial style for elves. But considering how handsome Fenris is, why on Earth did they take lovely Zevran and not go to the trouble to keep him attractive in the translation to new race style configuration. Laziness is all that is. Our new elves are supposed to be more fae looking, not ugly!

I know that a lot of people wont agree with me...but I liked how Zevran looked. I love the way they've changed the way the elves look. Suddenly they aren't just slightly shorter humans with pointy ears. They are faeish creatures with their own unique look.
Yeah we got used to Zev looking a certain way but he is their character.
As for Alistair I have to think that he had to look a little different, Slaying an archdemon and all tends to change you. While I'm not entirely happy with it I wont complain all that much.

When I saw DA2 Zev, this was my reaction:

DA2 Alistair looks creepy. His stubble is too dark, and they messed with his face structure too, for some reason. And don't get me started on DA2 Zev...
My theory is that Bioware lured all the DAO characters (except Cullen, he looks less creepy in DA2) that we love into a dark, dark alley, and beat them about the head and chest with large clubs made from the wood of the Ugly Tree, so that the new LI's would look better in comparison.

I think they just screwed up on Alistair and Zevran to be honest. I mean look at Nathaniel's cameo. He looks barely any different from Awakening.

I don't think Alistair looked that different, but Zevran was a dramatic change. Guess they were trying to morph him into the new elven design. I know a lot of people didn't like the new elves, but I thought they were really beautiful. It just didn't work when we were already used to Zevran looking one way...

They definitely could have done a better job. I am sad about the lack of mods for console, because I'm sure someone will fix this. Still, c'mon Bio, Nate and Leliana looked fine, WTF happen HERE?

I was so angry when I saw Zevran, he kept hitting on me and slept with Isabela even though he was with my character in the first game, and the only time he acknowledged that they were together is when he was talking about the threesome with Isabela. WTF?????

Aww, Alistair got older, and apparently ate all the pies in Denerim. While Zevran fell out of the ugly tree and hit several branches on the way down (and then it seems got laser surgery to get rid of his tattoos...)
Its kinda funny that the only Origins companion that looks better in DA2 is Leliana but then its not much of an improvement. (But if they touch Morrigan, I'm handing out torches and pitchforks and marching on Canada!)

He has his tattoos. When he's talking you can see them clearly as he twists his head to the side, in a very awkward fashion. But he still has them.
