Description Its been a long time since the last of my little Mario Galaxy-inspired planets, but I suddenly remember why - the damn things give me considerably more trouble to make than anything else I do! it's no surprise that I went through 14 program crashes during the making of this, which in itself made me lose hours of work collectivly - as well as the file then refusing to open when I was at the halfway point, meaning I then spent a further day just re-doing many things I had done already, needless to say - the S.O.B is finally finished and if anyone asks me to change anything, I'll rip their head off

Fortunately I did save some time as I used some buildings I modelled in advance from other past scenes, and a few others were bought from Cornucopia 3D too (but I made sure there was much more of my work than stocks ) like the rest of these worlds, I wanted to get the raw 3D as good as I can with minimal postwork, I'm actually surprised that of the ones I've made so far - this one required the least postwork yet!

More environment types to join the series in the future, but don't hold your breath. For now, check out the close-ups from the surface in Changing lanes in Channel City and the past planets listed below!

Picnic Park galaxy
Beach Ball galaxy
Frozen Flurry galaxy
Banshee Bridge galaxy
Derailed Desert galaxy

I wonder how long it's going to take for that boat to realize he's going around in circles.Β

Depend son the use. I don't always allow my work to be used since I like to keep some degree of exclusiveness to my gallery

Then again I'm tired as hell and my eyes are burning so it's not something I can clearly decide on right now

is a work of handling the issue is global warming and want to use only some parts of the buildings and also will assemble for the planet breaks and hot, with a polar bear on top of global warming and demosntrando culdar the planet, I just use them to build a piece of his art, and will certainly post here to see how you were and put your credit for a piece of work (I have to present this urgent work I'm sorry if I'm being hasty)

Hmm, that sounds like an unusual request. I gotta admit I don't like the idea of parts of my work being samples for a larger collage though. Surely there's bound to be some similar-looking buildings out there

Dunno,kinda dislike that tree on the far left,next to that bridge,couldnΒ΄t you replace it with a dinosaur or something?

HAHAHAHA now come and rip my head off hehehehehe

But honestly how the hell could I be on dA for six friggin years and discover your art,your whole TYPE of art just now? ThatΒ΄s fucking bloody amazing,I canΒ΄t decide wether to visit the desert or the Banshee Bridge first....

Chromattix In reply to TheSangson [2012-02-18 07:12:59 +0000 UTC]

Lol, I think it's 65 million years too late for one to be roaming around here

Your account says only 4 years But you must have switched a while ago. Heh, my account will be exactly 6 years in just a few days, so we must have joined around the same time. I'm glad my art feels like its very own type of art, and a late discovery is better than none. It means you get to appreciate something like its new when most have already been there, done that

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheSangson In reply to Chromattix [2012-02-18 07:39:42 +0000 UTC]

True,true.ItΒ΄s one of the great things on glorious dA that as well the artist as much as the one enjoying art will always have the potential to discover something that was here for quite a while and/or be discovered by such a thing..I still get the creeps when someone comments on or even faves my old stuff,know what I mean..
About my being here..I donΒ΄t know what happened.I noticed that damn thing to say four years,but I joined october 1st,2006,with this very account...thereΒ΄s to be a bug or something...

Amazing work!
The concept is really cute. The town looks so peaceful and clean. The fact that it's small would mean you would know everyone and everything there.
I would love to move there anytime. XD

The trees look really nice too~ I like the fluffy looking ones. :3

~~~
Oh dear, I hate it when my project suddenly says it's corrupt when opened, especially when it was almost done. D8
And when it crashes and you have to repeat something again. DX
It makes you feel as though making the artwork is a burden and not a joy. But when you finally complete it, it's all worth it. c:
~~~

Amazing artwork from you again! Looking forward for more of these mini planets. ^^

Chromattix In reply to Greenpuffle [2011-06-20 06:07:34 +0000 UTC]

Lol, you should would get to know your way around quite quickly, especially since there's only two roads

Yes, in fact I recently had an even worse file corruptions, literally months, probably almost a year's worth of tedious experimenting on something that only just recently started to look fantastic and now the file decided "hey, I'm almost done, I don't have to open anymore " and so I lost what was probably the biggest project I've ever worked on...so big that I'm not even going to try and re-do it like every other time that's happened. It will just take longer to get back than what it's worth. So sad, to think of the hundreds of hours I put into it and got absolutely nothing out of it, a literal waste of time that I could have made a ton of other works in

My projects don't usually last that long. I would only spend around 1-2 months maximum.~ c:

Chromattix In reply to SonOfCimon [2011-05-29 04:02:45 +0000 UTC]

Lackey?

Anyway that bottom building is on the completely shadowed side of the planet where there's not much contrast on each face of the building anyway, that's how the lighting scenario I set up in 3D rendered it, wasn't the best setup but anything better was beyond my computer's processing power, that often limits me in a lot of things

Oh wow, I forgot I even wrote that, this has become an oldie by now It did take me like, 60 hours to make - half of that was getting it almost done and losing the whole damn thing, this stands as one of the most infuriating works I've done, which is why once it was up here I had no intention of fixing anything

SonOfCimon In reply to Chromattix [2011-05-29 19:03:13 +0000 UTC]

and thatsthejoke.jpg

anyways, have you considered the old standby of making TWO saved copies of your work? Then when one of them corrupted you could load the other, slightly older version, amirite?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Chromattix In reply to SonOfCimon [2011-05-30 01:22:13 +0000 UTC]

I try to avoid that if I can, especially with large files. I wish I did recently though, I lost something even bigger - several months of work infact. This is the first loss I've had that was so big that I'm not even going to bother starting again. I'll just put it in the "discarded ideas" part of my brain

Nah. My computer's just worn its welcome. It's been use all day, every day for a few years, even left overnight on several occasions to render. The old thing's on its way out before its time.

Man this is awesome.

On Fanfiction.net, I have a story in the Game X-overs/Cartoon X-overs section called Traverse City.

The story takes place in a world that is made up network of city-spheres that float around in space. And this picture immiediately reminded me of that.

In fact your other galaxies just gave me some inspiration on what I could add in the future for that story.

I used three for each, Cinema 4D and Vue were my main 3D programs to make the worlds and texture/render them, these are mostly 3D, but there were some touch-ups in Photoshop after rendering as well
