Description From 1937 until 1945 Japan was at war with China, and the Japanese invasion of China is regarded as the start of WW2 in Asia.

The Republic of China had developed it’s Air Force with aircraft from many countries, but were were badly outnumbered by Japan.

The aircraft shown are US made Curtiss Hawk II and Boeing P-26A along with French built Dewoitine D.510 on the Chinese side opposing Mitsubishi A5Ms of Japan.

The war dragged on until the surrender of Japan in 1945.  But China’s troubles were far from over as the Communists crushed democracy in the civil war of 1949.

Thanks!  I am enjoying drawing the top views (apart from bombers lol) But all the way through, I want to keep every aircraft scaled to the others...

Sure!
Why are bombers not so much fun? (Says he, who thinks an aeroplane is an aeroplane, no?)

Don't you mean - Dewoitine D.510?  The D.520 was an entirely different generation of fighter aircraft...

No problem at all.

I guess it's because the D.520 is much more mentioned than the D.500/501/503/510 series.  I mean, when is the last time you saw a D.500/510 model or artwork...? >.>

At the start, China's air power was weak against Japan. Then came the Flying Tigers and the Allies.

Yes indeed - It was interesting how the US was in the war, but not *really* in the war...
