The STORM 2 was manufactured in the millions, having been tasked with arming the Earth Union's massive military. The rifle was chambered in 6mm 'Razor,' a cartridge just a ubiquitous as the firearms that used it. Fire rate stood at 950 rounds per minute in fully automatic. The lower part of the hand guard could be disconnected to reveal mounting points for a grenade launcher or under slung shotgun, though the latter attachment was uncommon. Numerous variants existed, ranging from short barreled self-defense weapons to light machine guns with thicker barrels and reinforced receivers. The above-pictured variant is the most common, being the standard pattern for Earth Union rifles.

Performance-wise, the rifle was considered average. Manufacturing quality varied wildly, ranging from Mars' superb attention to detail to the rather lackluster products of the Earth Union's outer colonies. Accuracy was passable, being on par with its predecessors. The rifle's biggest advantage was its extremely low manufacturing cost, permitted by the sheer numbers in which they were made.
