British Rail class 47 diesel-electric No. 47602 'Glorious Devon' (so true!) shunts tank wagons in Truro Yard, Cornwall, looking very 'tiddley' on September 6, 1985. The punters on the footbridge and standing by the track are not there for 'Glorious Devon' but for the now-famous 'Great Western 150' steam special, headed by No. 7029 'Clun Castle' which had arrived shortly before.Related content

According to Brdatabase, #47602 was built by Brush Traction of Loungborough on October 30th, 1964 and saw service until her retirement on September 1st, 2003. She was cut up at T.J. Thomson & Sons Ltd. Scrapyard in Stockton on May 4th, 2007 at the age of 38.
