Description Transparent and opaque acrylic paints on a 16" X 20" canvas. Applied with brushes, an airbrush and sponges. The original piece had a one inch guilded border. I omitted that for the portrayal seen here. Gold does not photograph very well straight on.
A twist on Michaelangelos classic ceiling centerpiece, this painting was inspired by the near constant urge I feel to mess with the recipe for a life well lived. That's me playing Adam, wresting will from God, lefthandedly no less.

Engh, how did you get the acrylics so smooth?

Amazingly done, your gallery is absolutely stunning. And I love how you use so many different mediums.

I love "spoof" art. (: Amazing job.

Thanks Sis. I feel the same way about your work. My good friend Velador says you might be interested in a scholarship to study your art somewhere. I've know some folks in Saint Paul that you should have a portfolio review with. They award a certain amount of stipends based on skill and I'm sure you'd have a shot. It's a great small Art college. I'll get Markus the info to forward to you. Meanwhile, keep up the good work. All my all....DDK

What a great piece!

The concept is hilarious, and this is spectacularly done. Did you use Michael Angelos reference?

Yes I did. I worked from a "Life Magazines World Religions" book I got at a garage sale years ago. It had a 'centerfold' of the ceiling of his chapel and, well, you know us guys. I couldn't resist that. All these years later it came in sooo handy. I like doing things with a spiritual message but don't want to get too overt about it. I'm not interested in pushing anyone away. Besides, I'm feel lost most of the time spiritually. Some days, if it weren't for my art, there'd be no God around at all Take care, and thanks for the kind words and critique. You're so right about the things you've said. Bye for now, Make Lunch, Not War. D-----

It's good to add humor to some more serious things, just hope people can take a joke and laugh at them if they can't.
