So, this is the first tutorial I have done for Deviant Art, and this shows you how to make a Blintz Frog Base from scratch. This is what I use in a couple of my creations, and will be the starting point for each in an effort to save space. If you have any questions, I'm only here to enlighten. Enjoy!And BTW, if you think it's too small, that's because you have to enlarge.
EDIT: After working with , who had difficulty understanding the tutorial, we figured out two things that may help you understand this better.

Also, it may help you to know that the base has 8 points. IF you look at my Zergling tutorial, it may confuse you and make you think there are only 6 flaps, however there are two flaps folded forwardfrom the back, and the other two arer the tail and head.

This set of instructions is useless. Period. How you expect a pro, much less a novice, to make sense of this is baffling.

I'm glad you asked! Where shall I start? Probably by saying that I am not trying to be an ass, and this criticism is as constructive as I can manage. I shall accompany each suggestion/observation with the step it pertains to.
6. Though it is clear what the base should be, due to the following steps, the instructions are vague, and the picture gives little idea of what the paper and folds should be to accomplish it. A clearer picture would be very good.
9. "Go to the side again"? Which side? When were we there before? You could mean any number of different sides at this stage in the model, also picture is very poor.
10-11. Though the picture at stage 10 is very helpful, the instructions fail completely to convey how these steps are to be done, and the picture at stage 11 is hardly helpful. I suspect that this process is a very complex one and should have taken a number of steps to portray, or at least two.
In general you have skipped too far between each phase of the model, and have inadequately explained how to reach the next stage, leaving far too much room for something to go wrong. Ideally you should include a step for every time it is require to so much as crease the paper.

To be more specific, I have found myself guilty of what this tutorial is, being vague. When I address steps ten and eleven, I am referring to how you state that one should create something that looks like a sail. A sail can look like a lot of different things, and a folded piece of paper many things that don't resemble a sail, do you see what I am getting at?

Okay, thank you for being honest, it helped. Sorry if I skipped too much, they were my first tutorials and, if you're comments are any correlation, i don't have the jist of it yet. If I heard him correctly, will have a tutorial, although you'll have to ask him. Until then, to help you with the steps;
6. I know, I'm sorry I skipped the step for the waterbomb. I know you probably had no trouble doing that, but I see what you mean.
9. About this, I typed it wrong. It shouldn't say 'again', just 'go to the side'.
10-11. I understand what you mean. It probably would have been better to include more steps. When I said 'sail', don't forget that I said 'sail-like protusion', which goes with the picture next to it.

I am sorry I have had so much difficulty too Xp, I really had my heart set on staging an over night zergling rush upon my room-mate and brother. I may have been a bit coarse and I apologize for this, I assure you that it was because I was frustrated and I am sorry.Despite my better judgment I am still endeavoring to complete a mock up of your little zergling, If I cannot at least mimic it I hope to design a procedure of my own, anyway I have one question left. Are you absolutely certain that you used a Blintz Frog base? I was checking the bases, and a frog base has only four flaps to be turned into limbs, it seems more likely to me that you used a Bird base which has six. Seeing as a Zergling has four legs, and two claws, a total of six.

It isn't a bird base, no. It does have the properties of fa bird base, but the process is more of a frog base. They call it a blintzed rog base because, well, you blintz it than make a frog base. (However confusing that may be XD.) The zergling actually has 8 flaps, four on one side and four on the opposite. I flipped one set of flaps to one side to make the hind legs, and the other two are the crest and tail.

Scratch all that, I was misinformed when I said that. Still I cannot seem to achieve the base you seem to be using as yours is free of the little triangular flap that is in the center of the diamond. Where as the frog base does have said triangular flap.
