Description So, I finally finished the tutorial for my origami zerglings! I'm so happy XD. You can look in my gallery for the Blintz Frog Base tutorial. [link]

Happy creating!

(Edit)

I designed a new version of the zergling, which can be found here: [link]

I switched the leg protrusions with the arms, and folded the crest like thing down to the head. It also stands on two legs. TADA!

Well, I didn't feel like signing up for some fancy account to give critique, so I'll just post it here, alright?

That thing is effing awesome. I looked at your Zergling Timeline, and I liked the Final one out of 'em the best, but so far the only thing that I would change about your models is that the body is a little large. I do origami too, and I found this really interesting (not that I could get it right until about the 6th time, but I blame that on my lack of skill.....back on topic...) and it was really fun to do once I mastered, but, again, the bodies really stuck out to me. I noticed someone did an origami zergling, and it looked more proportionally correct(link below). Maybe you could make the bodies stand up more? This model looked like it was obese. XD Overall though, I must say, it's really nifty, and if you could post a tutorial for some Protoss things soon, let me know. I'd love to see how a Dragoon or Dark Templar would look made out of Paper. Keep up the good work.

Lol, thx first of all thx for likin the design, even if it is a bit off on proportions XD. I might fiddle with the design a bit.

Anywho, I havent really been doin much origami lately, but I think now might be the time to get back into it XD. BTW, the link is not found, but if you mean 's zergling, then I kno wat it is you mean, in fact, I based mine off his. (He's very good BTW).

Thx for yuour comment!

Well, it wasn't his design, but some random guy made a zergling and it looked freaking sick. Problem=It didn't have instructions. Yeah, I saw some of his stuff, and it is really amazing, but I never saw instructions for it. (I guess that makes me a little selfish, haha.) But yeah, if you tweak it a little, I'll be glad to be your critic. Starcraft II comes out soon. I will become a Starcraft Zombie once more! @.@

Alright, alright alright. I'm not sure if this is any better in your opinion, but seriously, you sparked an interest in making a new design: [link] TADA!

oooooo, were gettin two copies o' that! ZERG RUSH FtW!

and i made a quick model for a differently designed zergling. Its too small to really see if it'll work, but it looks okay. I'll try out a bigger version. Your critiques shall be welcome XD

I officially give up with this tutorial, you asked for a critique but I only need a sentence to tell you that these instructions are incompetent, or at least incomplete. Good day.

PS, I finally got it, It wasn't your Zergling instructions that were difficult to comprehend, it was the Blintz Frog base instructions. I have included a link that will give a rough idea of how the base is to be acheived, hopefully it will make it easier for those who had my issue. [link]

PS I have made several attempts since my last comment and have arrived at the conclusion that I have incorrectly folded the "claws", Perhaps you could be more specific on the process of how to fold them so that they sit at right angles to the base.

I have a criticism or two for your Diagrams. Firstly my eyesight is not perfect, but I have never needed glasses, however I was forced to actually use the magnifier application on m y computer for the first time, in order to make sense of the photos you have supplied. Several of them are horribly out of focus, and the instructions are difficult to comprehend, on account of being far too vague, and overuse of the words "flap","Front","Back","Above"and, "below".
I love Zerglings, and origami(I'm quite good at it too, I already have several dozen Hydralisks from another tutorial here on deviant art), and I cannot express the level of frustration that the inability to make sense of your instructions has inflicted. Now I am not placing blame, but perhaps you have overlooked the fact that the instructions make sense to you because you designed the zergling we are trying to make, and anyone else would be hard pressed to get passed step eight. That is where I am presently stuck, and I am not sure what I have done wrong other than knowing that My attempt has several key differences from the pictures provided.

Hmmm. Well I've read all of your comments. I know the guy who made the hydralisk guide, and my tutorials are nothing compared to his. I don't have an expensive photo-shoot camera. I have a digital. So obviously the quality won't be great. If you don't understand the word "flap", than you should look it up. When I say flap, I mean something that protrudes outwards (If that makes any sense.) The overuse of the words is not overuse, that is the only way I can explain it. I don't have a fancy slideshow or anything, I have a long strip with pictures and descriptions. Now, I'm not an origami expert, so one of the "flaps" I named may have been something else, but whatever. I used vagueness so that people could customize it. I can't stress the point, however, of how this is not a professional tutorial. I did this in my free time to help me better understand my work and to share my creation, and give a little helping push to people when they read 's tutorial. Other than that, there's not much I can say. And btw, I wasn't asking to get the tutorial itself critiqued, but the zergling. Thanks for commmenting, anyways.

Heh, yeah, I'll try to reuse my hydralisk instructions, just replacing the text and photos. Though the text and photos are what takes so long, really.

My excuse is that I'm waiting for it to be more consistently sunny outside. It's still winter, technically. And I'm trying to finish up my game.
