With a mum who is a surgeon and a father being a successful business man, money had never been an issue for the family. Despite this, they weren't ones to flaunt it off by buying expensive and needless things. They lived out on the country side, outside of Naju-si, staying away from the hustle and bustle of a city. With a younger brother, Mi-Jin had a happy and carefree childhood.
She had no interest in the usual wealthy and material things-- or activities. No ridiculously expensive clothes or horse riding, rather she found her passion in sports. It started with running. Always being fast and energetic, she tried out track and field. While she was decent at it, it was so painfully boring for her. Then, on a whim, she tried out soccer, playing on a team for one of her friends who was injured. She lost, was embarrassingly bad, but it was so much fun.
Without a second thought she jumped into soccer, practicing, playing, and slowly getting better. There was nothing like having a team. This was, without a doubt, her sport. When she graduated high school, and saw the opportunity to do Olympic training for soccer at Seungri, she applied immediately. She didn't know that being a professional soccer player was possible, especially as a female, but now she wants to more than ever.
After attending the school for a few years, she can say that she loves the sport and there is nothing like being on that field. Being in Seoul was shocking at first, but she is slowly adjusting to the city. She doesn't quite fit in yet, but none of that even really matters during the game.
