Description (2009) 9"x12" pencil, ink, watercolor, gold leaf

This one decided to take off in all sorts of spring greens when originally I had thought it would look more "earthy". I guess seeing the first leaves peeking out and doing some serious time in the garden had its impact.

Thank you! I guess I started drawing it just as the trees put out their first leaves and wanted to capture some of that green. Always love that time of year.

wonderful! so perfectly rendered . . . my daughter is Taurian, and this suits her. from the leaf wreath to the earthy colors . . just wonderful. these are so much fun to watch unfold! ^_^

Auch dieses Sternzeichen toll umgesetzt. Sind die Farben auch von entsprechender Bedetung? Ich kenne mich überhaupt nicht aus mit Sternzeichen... zumindest paßt das Grün und Braun ja zu einem Stier.

Danke Dir. Es gibt verschiedene Farbtraditionen fuer die Sternzeichen: Rot fuer alle Feuerzeichen, Blau fuer die Luftzeichen, gelbbraun fuer Erde und Gruen fuer Wasser. Aber andere Traditionen ordnen gelb der Luft zu, blau dem Wasser und Gruen der Erde. Insofern, denke ich, werde ich einfach das malen, was fuer mich am besten passt...

Thank you so much! And actually a good point. I've always had a color wheel in my mind that had blue for Air (turquoise, violet, lilac also), flame colors for fire, Greens for water and yellow, brown, grey, black for earth. But I think I will just follow my instinct for this one and some colors may be a little different from my usual norm.
