VENUE TWO - Gudvangen,Welcome to Gudvangen and the second venue of the Scandinavian Viking Tour! At the peak of summer this viking inspired eventing competition takes place in the beautiful valley of Gudvangen, in the Nærøyfjord of Norway. But remember, story-wise this is a full eventing competition, and not a cross country competition. RULES, RESTRICTIONS AND CLASSESYou will yourself choose what level your horse and rider is competing at, from novice to advanced, and therefore age restrictions may vary along with what heights on obstacles you can picture in your drawing. You can check out THIS guide if you are unsure about suitable levels and ages. All entries will be judged as one class/level.The horses must be of a natural looking breed, fantasy colouring that might be explained with dye is permitted though. The riders must be human looking, but smaller features like elven ears that can be explained by plastic surgery is permitted. If you are unsure about your pair, ask!For guidelines regarding tack and clothing you could draw for your entry, check THIS out. But I will give you a lot of freedom and you will not be disqualified for not drawing a saftey west. LOCATION AND RESOURCESFictionally, this competition run over four days with different levels and classes which means that you will have a lot of freedom over time of day, weather, obstacles etc. that you may draw. The important thing to remember is that the course will go through the valley, and will not be up upon the mountains, even if some elevation will be present. The water jumps vill also not be out in the fjord, but in shallow crossings of the river that runs through the valley. Below you can see the approximate location of the cross country course on the map and for nerds you can check THIS map out if you want to know about the whole of the competition grounds.,Absolute position: 60°52'30.8"N 6°50'04.7"EYou can also read more about the location HERE You can read furthermore about the Viking village HERE You can check out THIS inspirational and informative document as well! Siren was a charm to ride a no nonsense type of mare - under saddle at least. Work oriented most of the time and surely pouring all of her heart in every cross country phase. Alexa couldn't be more pleased of that as it was her favourite phase of 3DE anyway, so they were both standing on the same ground. Having a mare that enjoyed water excessively surely helped a lot in such setting, battling with rain and mist was already enough of a challenge, let alone fighting a horse at every puddle.
