Libya, for anyone who was hibernating during the last months, is in a civil war right now, following uprisings that started on february this year. Rebels from many origins are fighting against forces still loyal to Col. Muammar Muhammad al-Gaddafi and his 40 years old dictatorship.

Poorly trained (at least so far) and with light equipment, they are being assisted by NATO air assets and, some say, special forces in order to take down the dictator and his loyal troops. The specific city of Misrata has seen some heavy fighting for the last months being in the frontline of the conflict. The rebels held their position so far, despite constant artillery strikes and some attempts from ground troops to retake the important harbor.
