While the Valarim tend to be peaceful, even they have enemies. The Karoth are humanoids that have both consumed the blood of Shakaroth, a dragon, and even went so far as to inject Shakaroth's blood into their own bodies. With the blood of a dragon coursing through their veins, the Karoth have developed many abilities. One such ability is an extremely heightened tolerance for freezing temperatures which allows them to live in the area shown in this next piece: the Ice Plains!

The Ice Plains cover a large portion of Caeperus and serve as the homeland to the Karoth. A vast, snowy expanse would best describe the landscape, however, there is more than just snow within the frigid abyss.

Seen in this piece: There is perpetual snowfall throughout the land which limits visibility to some degree, depending on how thick the flakes are. The sky is always covered by an endless amount of grey clouds that block the sunlight, but there is light that manages to illuminate the land periodically. On occasion, polar lights will shimmer in the sky and cast a vibrant blue/green color across the ice and snow. Grand ice spires protrude from the ground and are found throughout most of the area. One ice spire serves as an entrance to below the surface - marked by the ancient ruins and a blue glow. The Karoth primarily dwell underneath the ground in caves but can be found living in the mountains as well. A Karoth is seen walking through the thick snow towards the ruins where they likely reside.
