This artwork is the first landscape piece to be constructed for my book. The terrain presented here represents the plains that surround the Valarim village on Caeperus. These vast plains extend all around the village for many miles and connect with some other important areas. In the distance are dark clouds, the same dark clouds that permanently reside over the Ice Plains - the home of the Karoth .

The plains in this area of Caeperus have an Icelandic feel to them, so Ranarh and I worked together to help create that feeling in the artwork. Even though Iceland was once known as the land with no trees, there are patches of shrubs and trees found within the plains. In the right season, flowers will sprout forth from the ground and form large fields of multi-colored beauty. Stone bluffs and hills are scattered along the entire landscape, some of which are separated by streams that come from the distant mountains.
