Thanks.

My app icons become regular icons on the taskbar the moment they are in running state. When not running they are displayed with token icons. How to fix that?

Can I use this only by changing a .dll or it's more complicated? Sorry for the noob question but I searched really hard and didn't found a guide anywhere. If I only have to change a dll where is it located?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Enzoisamazing In reply to bongie1 [2011-09-13 21:03:57 +0000 UTC]

Yes, you only need to change the DLL, which its location varies between 64 and 32 bit OS. 32bit will be in system32 in the windows folder. 64 will be in syswow64.

Have a look in .dll files, especially ones that have "res" in them. like ppres.dll or something.

Does this only change the icons for Firefox or does it change it in all apps??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Enzoisamazing In reply to NuclearBlasshole [2010-09-22 06:22:24 +0000 UTC]

I changed the icon for Firefox myself, this mod changes the Pin and close buttons on the taskbar.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NuclearBlasshole In reply to Enzoisamazing [2010-09-22 11:47:16 +0000 UTC]

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Enzoisamazing In reply to NuclearBlasshole [2010-09-22 23:31:14 +0000 UTC]

Using a res hacker to change the icon.

no instructions... what should i do with it?

[link]
^i use this pack is it compatible with this one? should i replace the imageres or should i just put it to system32 and wow64?
how to make it work i did not touch anything yet because there is NO instructions ... instructions is always helpfull

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Enzoisamazing In reply to ulyb0y [2010-09-19 09:21:51 +0000 UTC]

Well these are generally the kind of things that go under "If you know what your doing, go for it, if you don't, don't touch it"

Yes, this mod is compatible with that icon pack, the imageres is to be replaced with the one residing in system32, thats for both 32 n 64 bit. in 64bit you DONT replace the imageres in syswow64. then restart your pc and voila!

I think I'm right in saying the system files cover all versions of Windows 7.

The preview is from W7 Ultimate. It may appear different to the default Aero, due to the fact it's a custom theme.
