Description Dorky temporary name. A beast of burden native to the Bex homeworld, used for meat, labor, hides and especially for the thick armor plating that covers its dorsal region. The plating is tough but flexible and is used for an almost countless array of things from shelters to jewelry and apparel.

Β Funny. I actually thought its' tongue made it look like either a liquivore (like butterflies that drink nectar and mosquitoes that drink blood) or an insectivore that eats from termite mounds or ant hills (just like anteaters, pangolins, echidnas, numbats, and aardvarks).

Oooo I love your aliens so much! Okay, so I have a question: do I have permission to write a short story about these animals? I'll make sure to give you full credit. I totally also understand if you don't want to let me. But these things just fascinate me so much!

I am very flattered that you like my creations so much!! For right now though, I would rather that you not write a story about them. I have a lot more world building to do myself before I feel comfortable with others doing creative work about them. Thank you for asking!

im wondering where the opening for digestion is, is it in the trunk-like thing or is it somewhere else? but where ever it is, this is a beautiful creature

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

exo-bio In reply to LucasDB [2015-03-22 19:22:45 +0000 UTC]

It's hidden under that flap of skin looking thing, the trunk is meant for grabbing and bringing things back to the mouth.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

LucasDB In reply to exo-bio [2015-03-22 20:12:08 +0000 UTC]

oh ok, so similar to how elephants use their trunk! i like it, its definitely a tank!Β

dranorter [2014-08-26 02:52:23 +0000 UTC]

Does it feed on nectar? Must be some pretty big flowers!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

exo-bio In reply to dranorter [2014-08-26 16:30:49 +0000 UTC]

It's more like a trunk actually, it can grab and manipulate things with it. It's a little bulkier than how I drew it in this picture. It does eat nectar too though!

I enjoy he style of many of your critters. You seem to start by taking forms or concepts we're familiar with, like an elephant, or a hammerhead shark in the case of your Aquatic predator sketch , but giving it a refreshing entirely new twist, whether intended or not. I think making the viewer feel familiar with something, while they know it's something new, is a good way to make art stand out.
Cool work!

The two smaller ones are, the larger one is a manipulating appendage, a lot like an elephants trunk.

exo-bio In reply to ArcticWolf125 [2014-06-02 07:14:08 +0000 UTC]

More or less. The wilder breed is much more volatile and dangerous. Sort of on moose level. The domesticate breeds are much more manageable, sort of like giant cows.
