Enjoy.PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS THEME IS NOT FOR VISTA!
Please also note that the taskbar was designed for the bottom of the screen. If people show interest in another orientation, please comment and I will create it for you.
Features:
- Caption buttons with Win3x-style symbols.
- Caption buttons are blank until moused-over.
- Thinner borders on windows.
- Simpler taskbar with a more two-dimensional look than default.
- Blue loading bars; the continuous ones have green pulses in them.
Instructions for the nubz:
- Download the Universal Theme Patcher x86 or x64 (depends on your OS.
- Extract and run it, patching all files it indicates possible to patch.
- Reboot.
- Extract (winrar, etc.) and copy theme into your c:\windows\resources\themes folder (or wherever your windows is installed).
- Either click the .theme file or go into "Personalization" and click it there.
BTW:
- Wallpaper in new preview not included - found at [link]
- Font used systemwide in preview is Corbel (comes with Win7).
- Font smoothing done by GDI++ and Cleartype to cover maximum number of programs with best font smoothing possible.
- Desktop switcher I'm using is a Dexpot beta version (I'm a tester) 1.6 and does the Linux Cube thing too...

Themepack files aren't absolutely necessary, but they make it so that the theme shows up as easily-accessed buttons in the personalization menu with the presets and wallpaper that I included.

but i jst can't install the thing.. there is no *.theme file and i've patched my windows, I jst can't work it right

what exactly is different about it other than the min/max/close buttons.

I know this response is late, but for archival purposes - it makes the window borders thinner (preserving space), and the taskbar is completely customized to be more of a blurry overlay instead of a glass hunk. The border for the taskbar is also a thin line instead of a three-dimensional border, making it appear more two-dimensional.

It doesn't "change the sounds", it just uses one of the built-in soundsets. If you don't like the soundset I chose, go into Personalize and change it back to the default one and things will be good as new.

This theme is outstanding! One of the best Windows 7 style I've come across (just a shame about the black line across the top of the taskbar. If this wasnt there this would have been awesome! Any chance of fixing it?)

Sorry but the black line is intentional. Look up Maxclear, that theme (made by someone else) is very similar to mine but has no black bar. I purposefully made the black bar because not having any divider looks very strange (I tried it).
