been busy for the past several months with a double move, helping my mom move out of her old house into a townhouse, and moving myself into a new apartment. ive been lurking DA, just not posting for the simple reason of not having finished much in the past year that was not covered by a NDA. kinda lost my motivation to do art for a while... its coming back though.

i have always thought that the 'X'd wing' layout made alot of sense so i wanted to play on that, more than i wanted to play on the starwars x-wing or the bab5 starfury. and i did accept from the get-go that the correlations would be made.

Since it seems to be a small fighter how about some nose art or other markings, and maybe some pylons for extra weapons, equipment, or fuel?

im taking my sweet time polishing this one, and equipment pylons is something i have been considering. markings would be a texture thing though, and i am not sure if i am going to tex this or not, crossed my mind to make the final model available for download so that others might texture it

Well you are one of the best persons when it come to working with ship textures that I have seen. By the way, I was just wondering, if you had your choice of nose art for the fighter what would it be?

i never do textures, i you read the descriptions on any of the textured works i have posted there is a link to the texture artist.
as for nose art, im a fan of simple stripes in a subdued colour

I've always felt that the x'd wing layout was under-explored.
the earliest iterations of this design were intended to be a sort of hybrid of the x-wing and the bab5 starfury. as the design evolved the basis began to lean toward more theoretical propulsion, and the aerodynamics based more on those of a present day air-to-air missiles than any existing sci-fi craft.
the goal became a craft that does not rely on lift, is capable of great speed, and is practical for a wide variety of roles.
so think along the lines of a x-wing that could be built within the next 50-100yrs provided we have grav based propulsion
