I like the overall look, quite dark in nature yet light in mood.
The trees in the background are also quite nice, and I like the little details like the owl and the lanterns.

I really love the texture that water color gives off, especially the different kinds of papers. I had a similar blue color on a water color painting I once did. Although it wasn't anything amazing, the textures were just captivating.

I like how everything is confined in the oval/bubble and hardly anything exits its boundaries. It really gives that fantasy like feeling to it, like it's close and not reachable, but not imaginable.

The blue color works so well with the different hues. It's a nice monochromatic background. I like the bare rooted trees, they really add to the theme.

The characters are well drawn and painted, they have so much detail and expression to them. I'd imagine an ogre/troll to be more intimidating, but it's a nice look on it, that not all ogres/monsters are just angry ghouls.

So what is the boy or man doing? It looks like he's about to cast a fire spell on the monsters rear or something. This is a very nice piece!

Thanks so much for this comment! Really.

The thought was actually that this was suppoused to be an idea for an invitation-card for a halloween party (since I applied for a job at a company that arranges parties for kids, and I wanted to have some examples to show off), and that I would add some text encouraging the kids to dress up as scary as possible, and that the picture would portray a girl that dressed up scarily enough to scare and actual monster.

Not sure I got the message trough well enough, though..

Oh I see! A halloween card, very nifty! I can see such a holiday card selling very well. Now that you explained it, I can see where you were going.

Haha. The though was actually that the girl was dressed out for halloween, and managed to look scary enough so scare an actual monster

This is quite spook-tacular. (Haha, sorry. That was really bad. ) It's put me in the Halloween spirit, though. I wish it was October already! Your painting is lovely.

I really like your use of brush strokes, it works really well on the depth of the picture and the trees.
