It usually rains in Norway, so seeing a bright blue sky with white clouds is quite rare to me. Nowadays at least hoho!I am also completely aware of that log might be a little disturbing to the composition, but I like logs!
Filters: Neutral circular polarizer + graduated nd (1 f-stop, hard-edged), and a tripod of course, because my hands shake as if I was at least 60.

The log is interesting, I think, because it makes your eye go up in the picture instead of falling off the bottom.

Only the filterholder is Cokin. The remaining filters are Singh-Ray, that my student loan had to compensate

I have the Cokin P filter holder, and the 58mm adapter, and soon I should have the P164 Circ Polarizer and P120 + P121 ND grads might arrive later on
At least I'll have the Polarizer for fall, I'm excited, but I need a new bag to put all my camera stuff in

You and your equipment have really handled the dynamic range in this well. It's a lovely photo, and I'm not sure the log's much of a problem - it almost seems to point to the lake/sky anyway.
