Description It usually rains in Norway, so seeing a bright blue sky with white clouds is quite rare to me. Nowadays at least hoho!

I am also completely aware of that log might be a little disturbing to the composition, but I like logs!

Filters: Neutral circular polarizer + graduated nd (1 f-stop, hard-edged), and a tripod of course, because my hands shake as if I was at least 60.

The log is interesting, I think, because it makes your eye go up in the picture instead of falling off the bottom. So log = good. Really nice.

F-18 and not one dust spot Good lord I wish I were in your shoes... errr... your cameras... er something or other! Seriously, your sensor is way too clean Anyways, to the point my friend... gorgeous landscape photography. The sky, with the clouds, add much more to this shot than you would imagine... they bring the depth of the frame right there for you. The water with gentle ripples is really lovely, as is the tall grass! Very natural, very beautiful.

crazy good exposure! you exposed it really evenly, and i like how that works here. the composition is good too. I like the foreground you left in with the grass and log, it adds another interested element to it all

I'd rather have the log there than not in the shot, it's nice where it is

Can't wait till I get my polarizer and ND's Using the Cokin filter system?

Fishermang In reply to dlusion [2005-09-08 15:03:06 +0000 UTC]

So you have ordered filters you too? What kind??

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Fishermang In reply to dlusion [2005-09-08 15:02:39 +0000 UTC]

Thanks mang, long live the logs!!

Only the filterholder is Cokin. The remaining filters are Singh-Ray, that my student loan had to compensate

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dlusion In reply to Fishermang [2005-09-08 15:33:46 +0000 UTC]

Lol, yea they're expensive but worth it

I have the Cokin P filter holder, and the 58mm adapter, and soon I should have the P164 Circ Polarizer and P120 + P121 ND grads might arrive later on Can't wait for those killer dark skies without having to use photoshop to darken them and lose quality, yumm yumm. Also I'm getting a 67mm adapter for my other 70-200L lens.

At least I'll have the Polarizer for fall, I'm excited, but I need a new bag to put all my camera stuff in And I'll start using hyperfocal distance for landscape shots too, as now it makes sense to me.

You and your equipment have really handled the dynamic range in this well. It's a lovely photo, and I'm not sure the log's much of a problem - it almost seems to point to the lake/sky anyway.
