The Magic Express is not all wonderment and happiness... there are a few things that they hide out of site. Marie is set to discover them.Say hello to Quentin!
For this week's challenge. I liked Jamie Hewlett's play with shadows on some of his pieces and the early coloring of the Phase One Gorillaz. Admittedly, though, I think the inks stand out better alone. I'll post those too.

I have to say, while some of the details stand out more in the colors, they just don't have the same impact as the inks...

I keep saying this but I so love this art and how Quentin looks here, especially the little Quentin-appropriate details like the feathers and teeth on the floor. I actually am not sure what version I prefer, because they have such differing atmospheres. The light in this one is so evocative. I can stare at both versions for way longer than I ought to stare at any art!
On the subject of Quentin, I happen to know all about this character as I actually made him! But all will be revealed in time, I'm sure!

This is wonderful, It tickles my creepy bone in wonderful ways! though i would have to admit the inks look a tad bit better only i think it because when you get to the shadowy parts the line work is brown, not entirely a fan of that color, perhaps a gray, or if you stuck with white, one of those hard things like the black mouths

Also, I love the little molar that's on the floor. LOL It's the little things that make your art so attention-grabbing.
