There was a sense of finality when the strange gate closed. Wonder Woman (as she was known by the people of Earth), of Diana (as she was known by her colleagues and loved ones), stepped forward onto a floating platform of stone, tiny clouds of dust kicking up and blowing away in a warm wind. She was aghast at what she saw.

So much suffering and turmoil. So many of her allies, so many innocents, transformed into torturous monsters and playthings of a mad woman. A blue alien creature with a glowing, golden gauntlet. Flexing her hands, her first instinct was one of anger.

No. She shook her head of rich black hair and lifted her chin. Her first instinct would instead be peace. Love.

The platform of the demigodess responsible floated past Diana's own rock and she called out to her. "I would have words with you, sorceress!"

Nebula, still a bit manic, but able to speak, looked down to the Amazon, saying nothing, but offering her attention.

"We have a saying, my people. Don’t kill if you can wound, don’t wound if you can subdue, don’t subdue if you can pacify, and don’t raise your hand at all until you’ve first extended it.” Diana, gestured to the rock beside her. "Perhaps we can speak... come up with a way to end this madness and suffering?"

Nebula titled her head back in a peal of laughter, joined by her minions behind her. Her glazed over eyes knew nothing but madness and conquest.

Diana lowered her hand and nodded in assent. So be it. She stared at Nebula and spoke a clear vow: "I am Diana of Themyscira, daughter of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons... in the name of all that it is good...your wrath upon this plane... is over!"
