This is what I absolutely love to do!
I really value background and scenery art and it therefor takes up most of my artistic interest and attention. Heres a little example for ya'll, done with prismacolor markers, pen, and a little help from photoshop.

There are so many little details and things in the picture, and that is, in my opinion what makes a piece look quite real - the details!
I really like the colouring and composition, you obviously like backgrounds as much as I do... Although youre much better at them

Dearie me, I am jealous of people who can draw architecture and landscape like this. This is really sweet. The detail and composition is nothing short of astounding, and it gives a really quaint, countrified feel, so cosy and peaceful. Like somewhere a little old wizard would live. I adore the fact that everything's a little off-centre too. I don't know whether that was intentional, but it really adds that 'quaint little old hut' dimension to the picture.

My first attempt at this looked a little...TOO abandoned, almost creepy...so I worked this thing to death to give it that "southern comfort" country feel! You're welcome. You see most pictures, if well done, strike me with a certain feeling...I have to try and describe these feelings and let the artist know, because it makes the spirit and effort that an artist puts into their work worthwhile, you know?
And so much the better if I manage to pinpoint the thing that the artist or writer is actually trying to put across...

Thank you for stating that my enjoyment shows...sometimes I try so hard to get away from my own style, and try to emulate other styles or methods I see (which can be good, up to a point, to kinda broden your horizons) but its always great realizing that its okay to jump wholeheartedly into what comes more naturally!

It's very storybook in context and very appealing. I love the quality of the details you've put into it. As I look at it, I'm waiting for the kids to run out the front door. There has to be a story behind this image. This would be so great in a book! I love reading by the way.

Uh oh, you're on to me!! There is definitely a story behind this!!! In fact its something I've been working on for a looooooong time, and nearly all my "personal" illustrations are based off of it in some way...its something I really want to produce, somehow someway, when I'm older. I was actually a little nervous about posting this picture, because it exposes a big part of it

Wow! Bravo, dude! Completely GORGEOUS piece! Yiee.. Where to start! I really love all the curves in everything.. The roof curves the path curves the flowers curve, it's all really on a curvey offset the really gives the house an organic, believable, and welcoming atmosphere (kind of like the hobbit holes, eh?) . I love all the details around the house.. It seems like despite the modern technolgy things thrown about, the inhabitant seems to be a person of nature.. And I always like stuff like that.. ^_^ The coloring is marvellous.. Simple coloring, but that's all you need.. All the spectacularity that makes this pic is in the inking in my opinion, the color is just icing on the cake. Bravo, my friend..
