Description This image was inspired by my mate 's 3d creature he made, called a Puckle. (Hope you don't mind me borrowing the name! ) It had a kind of wooden creature look to it, and I love anything to do with trees. I wanted to show it emerging from a tree - during the day it sleeps within the bark, and come evening time it climbs out; here we see it waking up and leaving it's tree.

Coloured with watercolour, for those interested.

*Laughs* Fear not, all creepy sycophants are welcome here! I'm just so grateful to hear you being so positive about my work; it's much appreciated, believe me. I wouldn't mind seeing a Puckle! It'd probably be quite unnerving though, especially at night! I really did enjoy to colouring this, funnily enough; I definitely believe that a person's work will always look better when they fully enjoy drawing/colouring something. Thanks again!

I love this! It is so creepy and almost nightmarish- but not overtly threatening either. He just looks like he is going about his business. Fantastic work here.

Oh My God!! I am honoured middear. This is bloody brilliant! those eyes are definately pucklish and I love the twisting-ness of the twigs, and the whole faded-ness of the watercolours. The origins of the Puckle explained eh?

All it needs is Johnny Depp running around in the background. Mmmm, that'd be a welcome addition actually! Thank, dear bint. (btw, check your phone!)

Wow. That's one fine piece of artwork, that is! You did a great job of showing the Puckle almost conjoined with his tree - and the background is just amazing. Watercolour you say?

I love the watercolouring on this one. Especially in the sky. The creature looks like it would be quite sloth-like. But then I also think of a Muppet. nicely done

i was wondering what the hell a puckle was! lol. I was like, did someone make up a new word without telling Talia? the whole world is against me!!!!! *cries* but then I read your description and it was better! This thing, this puckle, reminds me of a stick bug and i must have one *captures it and puts it under bed*

I WANT ONE!!!! of course, in arizona we don't have trees, so that little fact could hinder the poor things living habits I'm not sure if he is an adorible little guy with sticks for limbs or a frightening murderous fiend whom i should run from *scratches head* oh well, i still want one you did some awesome coloring and he just looks so freakin awesome

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

greyflea In reply to Relaen [2004-07-01 00:34:36 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, the Puckle'd need a tree, really. Maybe there are sand Puckles! Maybe he's both. ;D Like a tiger perhaps - gorgeous to look at, but could turn vicious in a flash! Not that I'm saying my work's gorgeous or anything; god that sounds vain. Ahem, anyway! Thankyou!

great job i think its more of a shy creature....mostly because he hides during the day and comes out during the night when no one can see him.....then again thats also traight off something evil...still i think its shy

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

greyflea In reply to AB7 [2004-06-30 18:03:59 +0000 UTC]

Hehe, it could well be either! Maybe it's shy during the day and evil at night? Thanks for the comment!

Been watching you build up zis image, glad ya finally decided on a background (you and your paint flicking!). I swear it didn't start off so evil looking.... I don't find it cute, more scary than anything!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

greyflea In reply to truds [2004-06-30 18:02:00 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I was paint flicking in general around the house, and these bits just happened to splatter on the paper. Hehe, Truds, you find *everything* scary/creepy. I'm sure a brick is scary to you in one way or another. Aw. But thankyou! (I was worried Raz was gonna jump on the back table and destroy it, like he did the Medusa picture ¬_¬)

truds In reply to greyflea [2004-06-30 22:43:16 +0000 UTC]

In the right light and mood, a brick could *definetely* be creepy. Be careful with your work, missus.....

What kind of paint did you use here?
