Description Taken on Wednesday at Locomotion, Shildon, County Durham.

Patience does have it's rewards, and the crowds finally cleared for just long enough to get this potograph of Mallard on her own.

Even though I like the photograph myself, I would only agree with the "epic" if she had been in steam, which sadly will probably never happen again.

Wow. This is beautiful. One of your best shots, in my opinion, in recent memory. Great lighting and reflections, and a good low angle to keep the foreground in proper proportions. +fav.

Great picture, but the engine standing at what looks like a bus stop seems rather weird…

It is actually a bus stop, where the shuttle bus picks up passengers to take them to the other end of the site.

Shuttle bus? Certainly very convenient, but couldn’t they just get some cheap railbus for this?

They do run a shuttle, on most weekends during the summer, hauled by a steam loco, in place of the bus. At the moment they are using the J72 Joem 69023.
