Description Taken yesterday at Locomotion, Shildon, County Durham.

60009 Union of South Africa was on duty all day on Sunday, doing the passenger run along the 1/4 mile stretch of line at Locomotion, and as you can see, she was gleaming in the sunlight, and there was also the best soiund ever, namely the four chime A4 whistle. Definitely a whistle to beat all other whistles.

I may have visited South Africa at some stage in it's life, but it certainly hasn't in recent years, and is a permanent resident in the U.K.

I would disagree on that, because I only shoot what I see, and make a lot more mistakes than anyone ever sees.

The guard's vans are used to give paying passengers a ride along the quarter mile long track. It can't get up any speed, but at least they can say that they've been pulled by an A4.
