The angle of how you got this picture's absolutely bloody fantastic. I can almost imagine this scene:
Mallard, thundering down the line with the Elizabethan when suddenly, a four-chime breaks the crews', and Mallard's, concentration. A green streak flashes past at the speed of progress! It's the Peppercorn A1 Tornado pulling the Cathedrals Express! Where both are headed, only God and us railfans know for sure.
Keep up the awesome and thought-provoking photography, Holzernes

The angle is because I almost always kneel, sit, or even lie down to take my photographs. To me it gives a greater emphasis on the size. For this one, I think I was sitting on the ground.

Very nice!
I like the contrasting sky and the steam from the cylinder cocks.

Thanks Frank.
It's one of the times when the polarising filter worked well, because, as with other controls etc., I keep forgetting to adjust it.

Yes, it is.
The only cost involved, is actually getting there.

Yes, it wouldd seem that way if we didn't know what was actually happening.

I think they let out an extra blast of steam, not just because it was needed, or to clear the crowd away, but also because they know what makes a good photograph.
