Yes! You should! That guy of your awesome emoticon/icon/avatar-thingy, do you know who he is? He looks like a famous Dutch-guy... He's an actor or something like that... Arie Boomsma or something, that guy looks REALLY like him.

Ye, I think you're right.
Because the words sound logical! And I don't even know how to write certain words. They change the way to write them so often, I kinda lost track of the right thing.
You've really never heard Dutch people talk before, we sound extremely rude! And some people have a really strange way to say the 'r'. I'm one of them XD
That's true, but I wish there was an ideal place in this world. But it would be overloaded with people...

Yeah, I think it's a bit strange when a country decides it's going to spell the language's words differently, because it just gets confusing. Although when it comes to English, the difference between actual-English and American-English is equally confusing
And the more I think about it, the more I can say that I've never heard Dutch being spoken. I've heard English being spoken with the accent, but that's not really the same thing. I doubt it can sound that rude though, because rudeness probably depends on the kind of person talking.
I think the ideal place in this world is long gone. There'll never be an ideal place in today's world. What I mean is, wouldn't anybody love to go see what the world was like before the masses of roads, cars, cities, pollution etc appeared? Back then, every place in the world was ideal...although maybe not as comfortable and people didn't live as long.
...nah, nothing's really ideal. >_<

That is REALLY confusing. In Holland, we have the white and the green way of writing words... That's even more confusing...
But really, we sound rude XD Or maybe I only know rude Dutch people... But, Dutch doesn't sound nice in general. Like Italian, that sounds beautiful...
I wonder if there ever was an ideal place... I know, nothing is ideal... You just need to see beyond any imperfection, but even then... Nothing is perfect I guess...

Lawls, well, actually it IS my fault, because it IS pretty hard to make out. My original intention was just to draw other PokΓ©mon as other PokΓ©mon, but then I thought I'd just draw an Ekans as a Dunsparce and a Dunsparce as an Ekans. Then I thought that wasn't very Halloweeny and just used Shade and Sasha.
And I just went through with it despite the fact Shade looks nothing like a Vulpix. And it looks all sorts of terrible.
But yerse, I thought I'd rush a quick picture in now, because the next few days I'll be packing for London. But hey, who says you need it up for the date? A week either way isn't going to hurt.
Still sucks about your Pearl; are your other PokΓ©dexes almost empty? Anyway, surely if you can't get access to the internet, that also means you can't get access to a PC, meaning you wouldn't be able to work anyway (at least digitally)? Or is someone actually physically stealing your internet?

Well, I mean, I'd like to draw, say, a Drifblim, but with an uncompleted PT dex and no pearl, I'd be afraid of getting things wrong. So can't do much, except when I have access. To the ACTUAL internet dongle-y thing, that is. I can still draw with what I have done already, but I wouldn't chance drawing from memory for something important. (And they're not almost empty, they just have large gaps. I've actually restarted Ruby for that reason; seeing the amount of Pokemon unobtainable in White has made me want to try catching up a bit.
Funny, actually. I had similar ideas for dressing up Pokemon, in fact, were I a premium member, I'd have held a contest for Pokemon Halloween costumes. Srsly. Best idea + execution gets a 3 month sub, sort of thing.

Why does colour serve no purpose in a ref doodle? You need to know which bits are which colour o_0
But whatevs.
If you want a premium that much, just go ahead and buy one. Sheesh!

DunnyCT In reply to Jacktoon [2010-10-29 20:55:16 +0000 UTC]
Well, I know which colours I want. And anyway, I'll be checking them for reference while correcting the lineart anyways. It's wasted effort.
And I would, (They are very cheap) only I'm very picky about premiums. I've already said before how rather a lot I'd see young people who are obviously borrowing daddy's credit card for no better reason than they want to? Or to make use of stamps? I don't want to be one of those people. Regardless of how much I've improved, if at all, there are plenty of people here who would think deep down that I'm just not good enough to deserve one. I want to deserve one. So, either I'm waiting to get good enough to buy my own, (I have no qualms with people like =purplekecleon having one, since she's obviously fantastic) to win one or work hard enough for somebody else to give me one, (like ~pokemondiamond , he works to get his - ZOMG where'd it go) or simply to win one in a random dA hosted contest - that's a gift, can't complain.

Jacktoon In reply to DunnyCT [2010-10-29 21:23:25 +0000 UTC]
I know what you mean. Everytime I see anybody with a Premium symbol, I automatically think "ZOMG AWSUM ARTIST". Like, if anybody with an asterisk faves my work, I expect to be entering the page of a damned good artist when I go thank them for it.
But usually, 'tis not the case. Normally some 13/14 year old kid with a truckload of stamps and other such malarkey. But hey, no one's stopping them.
In that way I'd also feel similarly awkward in having a premium too; I can see that trying to "prove" you "deserve" that kind of thing is the best way to know you're getting it at the right time, if you know what I mean. I mean, I could easily say "oh hay i iz gud, i can haz preemeeum nao" and go buy one, although I wouldn't really have earnt it so much as I'd just be superficially hightening my status. Stress on superficially.
Although I seriously doubt you'd misuse a premium. If you WAS to buy one right now, I'd say you'd deserve it.

DunnyCT In reply to Jacktoon [2010-10-29 21:52:11 +0000 UTC]
"If you WAS to buy one right now"...?
Lol, I really shouldn't criticise a nice sentiment like that. But then, you shouldn't be misusing your native language, so I guess we're quits.
I think that's a big thing; the fact that when you browse someone's page with a * beside their name, you expect them to be good. I wouldn't want to disappoint. Less rich preteens steelin our asterisks, plz!
I wunder... I mean, wonder... what other kinds of contests could I do? I have 3 ideas already, possibly 4, all different ideas. (Flexible, though.) Those kind of thoughts are what keep me going through the school-day; the things that I'd like to do had I the chance. So, you said you'd do similar - any contest ideas? (I wouldn't steal! )

Jacktoon In reply to DunnyCT [2010-10-29 22:08:08 +0000 UTC]
Were, was, same difference!
But yeah, it's true; the premium symbols really do ramp up expectations. A great artist with a higherup symbol is bound to be solidified in their position as an awesome artist, even when, say, compared to an artist of identical skill level who was a regular member. Also, if a more so-so artist was to have a premium, because the expectations are superficially raised, it makes their artwork skill-level feel like it's capped prematurely. Y'know, almost as if greatness and level of membership go hand in hand.
Well, in all honesty, I don't really have that many contest ideas...it's something I know I'd like to do, but I never really put much thought into it 'cos I never thought it'd happen.
I really have no idea how it'd work as a contest, but I've always liked the idea of somekind of "continue the story" thingymajig.

Huh. Sounds interesting - and sort of follows your own style, too. Unique, you could say. I wonder - would it ever be possible that either of us ever actually make money from dA? Like, when we'remuchbetter, we do commissions via paypal? The idea has a certain... sparkle to it.
And definitely not same difference.
Were - past plural, + you.
Was - past singular.
I was, you were. He/she/it was. They/You(plural)/We were.
Eesy peesy.

Money!?
...greedy pig!
I don't really understand dA "commissions" though. Because... let's say someone requests something; how do you actually give them it? I mean, if you just uploaded it and they paid cash/points, it's still not really theirs 'cos everyone can see/download it. And if they want a physical, copy, well, that'd almost be impossible to sort out. They could always buy it through the Prints thing, but then they'd have to pay for it again. Or you'd have to buy it yourself and sell it for more (because I highly doubt we all own proper printing equipment). Plus I don't think you're even allowed to make prints of things like fanart.
It all just...confuzzles me.
I'd just be content with recycling points, not dealing with real money.
Or if I'm totally missing the point here, please enlighten me.
Also I'm just really used to misusing "was", I've said this before.

Hurmmm. I'm not sure about prints. I'm not disagreeing, I'm just not positive whether or not fan art is a category for Prints; I mean, you can have fan art of an OC or something. But I've definitely seen people sell Pokemon stuff, even actual stuff, (e.g papercrafts, plushies) but I doubt they were prints. I suppose people with money to spend figure that that by comissioning something, they look good, they have fond memories of a piece, and they can feel good about helping out another artist. I mean, even if you were to recieve a commish in the post after buying it; well; what then? Sure, you hang it up, but that's it. And when it's on the 'net, it'll always say it was drawn for you. I guess that's why people do it.
And come ON, no point being nai(umlaut)ve about it. Eventually, if we're good enough, we are going to be tempted to sell stuff. I mean, it's one of the "next steps". Like, proving that you're good enough in the eyes of other people. Plus, the cash would help.

Jacktoon In reply to DunnyCT [2010-10-30 22:25:20 +0000 UTC]
Oh, well, I dunno then. It's just, I've hardly EVER seen people offering prints of fanart, and also, if you upload fanart dA never gives you the option to make a print. Pretty much every non-fan-art picture I've uploaded offers the option to make a print right off the bat, so I just assumed the option was disabled for fan art (copyrights.)
But I'd still think people would prefer to own a physical copy of a piece of art after buying it. Which is why, in the world of dA, I'd think just dealing in points is a lot better. If at one point in the future I want to set up and do REAL commisions I'm pretty sure I'd take it somewhere else, like, make my own website or something.
And yeah, I'd probably be tempted to sell stuff, but only if, one day, someone was to say "oh, I'd like to buy something like that" as opposed to me saying "anyone wanna buy this?"
If ya get me.
