Thanks for the honest critique. I'm always looking to improve. If you don't mind could you tell me which works are lacking and why. Thanks.

sorry for late reply. I cant find anything bad painted in your gallery. have you removed some of the images? otherwise I most have had you and some outer artists work up at the same time and thoughtΒ that all was yours. In that case I'm sorry for wrongful giving you bad critique. Β Β Β

I posted it on Ben's forum way back when but never the ThreeA one. Man, I'd love to see them make a sixth scale Wormwood figure. Stoked to see what they do with 2000AD after they announced their doing a 1/12 line. Buh, anyway, before I go off on a tangent...
Thanks again!

Are you able to do trades? Or would that tread on their copyrighted toes as well? I've met Templesmith, he seems really nice. You might see if you can reach him to see about production. ;D

JamieDMac In reply to AnubisScales [2010-02-16 17:51:04 +0000 UTC]
I met him at a signing a couple of years ago, he's incredibly nice! But yeah, we discussed for a time about doing something with it but nothing ever happened. He mentioned that he wanted to sculpt one himself and put that into production. Hopefully he'll get around to it some day. Would love to see a proper Wormy sculpted by Templesmith!
As for trades I wouldn't be able to do that sorry to say. Which is due to expenses rather than legalities. I'd have to have new moulds made in order to cast more up and I just can't afford to. Sorry.

Hey man, I wasn't too sure about the books so double checked on the IDW site. They've got them all listed on there.. [link]
I still need to pick up the third book, didn't realise it was out already. I used to buy the single issues but had to stop last year to try and save money, which really sucks. Love that comic...
Anyway, thanks very much for the compliment, I really appreciate it!
All the best.

Hey, thanks man.
Your work is brilliant! Very much in the same vein as the likes of Basil Wolverton and Robert Crumb, love that stuff. Also glad I had a look at your website as I thoroughly enjoyed watching the animations on there, superb stuff.
Cheers for the fave and watch by the way, muchly appreciated!
All the best.

Thanks a lot for the compliments and the faves!
Robert Crumb is great. Ive never heard of Basil Wolverton till now, thanks for the introduction, his work is awesome.
I wish my 3d work was as good as yours. how long have these pieces taken to make before painting on average?
π: 0 β©: 1
JamieDMac In reply to irn0am [2009-01-12 12:59:14 +0000 UTC]
You're very welcome!
On average the sculpting stage has taken between 2-4 weeks, mostly the latter. But it varies greatly. On very rare occassions it can take a couple of days. The longest I've ever spent is 10 months, on the Spider-Man piece, which was an extremely laborious task. That was due to the fact I kept scrapping it and starting over, at least four times... and it still looks wrong. Also depends on the type of clay. Wax pieces tend to take the longest and I find them to be a real tedious process. If I'm working in softer clays I can block the sculpt in much quicker and easier, problem then is I have trouble getting the details. I like working in these hybrid waxes because they're sort of a mix of the two... I'm rambling on, sorry...

no no, thats actually interesting. 2-4 weeks seem like a really long time. especially since i dont spend more than a few hours on a drawing. but wow 10 months...a baby takes less time to make hahaha
