Its just a way for both sides to generate weapons sales. Both the USA and China make a lot of money in the defense industry. And now the US Navy has a reason to get a larger budget.

The U.S. Navy needs a larger budget to fix most of their ships.
China is following the commie's ideology of no borders.

Never thought my Idol, Jolly Jack has heard about this, good to know. Yeah, Chinese people are starting to be dicky nowadays to the Filipinos, if only you saw the abuse our basketball players got after going to china, the hotel room was lately processed on purpose and all that, then they got spat on in the playing field, yeah, buncha dicks really. But I do love some of their dishes, I mean normal dishes not the Dogs and all that. They also love to ram everyone's ship in the sea with their ship, even Japan's. Despite China is being in Japanese territory already.

This is less childish and more loophole abuse, though. If I remember correctly, something like 200 miles (or kilometers? I don't remember) off the coast of any country is considered part of their territory, so they're just exploting this to their favour.

MisterFriendly In reply to ALol [2015-11-16 04:17:16 +0000 UTC]
The thing is, several other nations also claim that coastal territory, historically. There's a lot of overlap, which is why everyone in the South China Sea are arguing over it. And that's also the reason why everyone's so pissed off at China for just moving in and taking the place.

It's mostly a problem of cultural values, but no cartoonist ever stops to think that maybe some other countries hold different standards over certain things before charging to their openly offensive political cartoons, and somehow, get praised as heroes for that.

Yeah technically according to the U.N artificial land cannot possess sea territory. Many micronations are hurt by this. And therefore won't be officially recognized as countries.
So yeah china no get away with this.

What won't the Chinese waste or spend excessive resources on next? From empty cities to artificial islands they never cease to astound me with their tendency to overcompensate things to a way that benefits no one, including themselves. Perhaps this is another political/military ploy on their part, but the excuses to kick people out of the South China Sea seems kind of petty at the moment. Other than the threat of Air Bases being set up on the islands or Air Power being used to patrol it in the name of "Chinese Sovereignty," I highly doubt that this is going to result in anything but peaceful means. The last time I or anyone relied on Chinese aid was...well, I don't believe EVER.
Nice try China, gonna have to come up with a better alibi than "Rescue Operations," to convince me that you're not up to something no good. Emphasis on the "No Good," on their planning history.

You truly do need to send this to the media outlets(newspapers, magazines). Because it succinctly pinpoints the EXACT thing that's happening, and it's simple enough that the more challenged politicians will get the point.

Taiwan is a sovereign state. It's where the nationalist Chinese fled to after they lost the Chinese civil war in 1948-ish after bearing the brunt of fighting the Japanese before and during WWII.

I personally believe that the Chinese should be less focused on trying to expand and more focused on their environmental problems, such as the fact that their territory is so polluted that they will run out of local drinkable water by around 2030 according to a recent report that they actually attempted to suppress.
