Its pretty straight forward when it comes to taking it apart, the only issue is the side flaps being made of a softer plastic makes them difficult to hold paint if you bend them too much afterwords.

you also have to drive the pins holding them on out to remove them from the sides of the shell. a small screwdriver and hammer help.

I've only just started playing Borderlands (1 and now 2) and I can appreciate how awesome this is!

Keep an eye out, i just started to revisit Borderlands a little by starting a Bandit themed Nerf Demolisher. It should be finished in a couple days.

This really looked great, bud! BoomCo really did a nice job making a good base for some very cool customs. I'll have to grab on of these myself!

From what i've seen the whipblast and farshot are the only ones really worth buying, the others are just functionally broken. Unless of course you want it just for aesthetics.

Pretty sweet man.
I've been thinking to paint a NES gun with Borderlands-inspired colors but it seems to lack something in it's design and still haven't come to do it yet. (plus i dont wanna cut the wire off D: )

You could easily do it, though the NES gun was designed to be sleek looking. With a bit of body work on it you could make it look more like a borderland-ish gun. Or just drop on by a target and pick up a nerf gun, they work great as a base to start with.
