I just found out about this master of horror's death like ten minutes ago and I'm shocked.

Even Freddy Kruger himself would have no words, quips, or puns to make at the death of his father (the other guy who wasn't one of those hundred maniacs)
I haven't seen many of Craven's films, but I'll change that this October, watching all of the scream movies, people under the stairs, hills have eyes, and of course marathon all of the Nightmare on Elm Street films (I like all of them, except for Freddy's Dead and even that has moments)

Last year comedy took big losses with Robin Williams, Harold Ramis, Joan Rivers, and Rik Mayall all dying, and now it appears that horror is going to be loosing some of its own icons this year with the passing of Christopher Lee and now Wes Craven.

Goodnight sweet prince of darkness, and may flights of dream demons sing thee to thy nightmarish rest.

Edit: Okay, bad year for horror; Christopher Lee, Wes Craven, Betsy Palmer, Gunner Hanson, probably some others I'm unaware of. sad year for nightmares. Oh and my opinions on Craven's films are Shocker and People Under the Stars are really great underrated horror films (though PutS is more of a horror-adventure and Shocker is a bit of a comedy but both were joys to watch.)
