Is it possible to change it to use Unico engine?

it would be nice if made for classic nautilus too. Elementary-nautilus is unstable it crashes everytime you remove a device or something...

A little pet peeve I have with the theme...

The panels/metacity gradient is a bit too "dramatic". As in, it's too sharp and gives (me at least) an impression that the panel/metacity is cylindrical. Compare to ambiance/radiance/OS X where it's much more smooth and less dramatic.

Just a bit of feedback

jurialmunkey In reply to kaldor-nfld [2010-10-11 00:27:48 +0000 UTC]

But it IS just the Ambiance metacity (the Maverick one) with the Close button desaturated and the dividing line removed......

I agree with you on the panel though, needs a softer gradient definitely, especially when a window is maximised against it. Makes it look "bumpy" or something -- cylindrical, like you said.

Appreciate the feedback.

where in the downloaded .tar package can i find the graphics for the titlebar? And if it's not in the package could you make me a .png file of it(non-transparent) ?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jurialmunkey In reply to Skrell [2010-09-27 01:39:12 +0000 UTC]

What do you mean by titlebar? Do you mean window decorations? Or do you mean the Dock/Panel? If you want the window decorations, they are called "Metacity" and are in that folder of the themes. All the window button images are in there.

I'm not sure specifically what you want?? I think you misunderstand how GTK themes are built; rather than use images, GTKrc code is used to instruct the widget engine how to draw widgets (Buttons, Comboboxes etc.). So any png I make will be just taking a screenshot and cropping, which you can do from the screenshot here (Save a copy of it and open it in photoshop, gimp or whatever). Theres nothing I can really give you that you cant get already here.

Almost there, how do you get the floating bar to appear over the info icons on the right?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jurialmunkey In reply to viper0825 [2010-09-21 21:53:39 +0000 UTC]

Okay. Open up the Dock preferences [Right click dock]

On the preferences page I assume you have set the style to "Lucido" and checked "Expand the panel"

On the Applets page/tab: wherever you put a separator is where the style will change between light and dark. Expanders will push everything after it to the right side.

Goto to the Themes page/tab.
Click the "Customise..." button. [Bottom left, above the About button - I didn't notice it the first couple of times.]

The first and second GRADIENT colours control the top layer gradient colours (on mine that's the dark part)
[I used colours #454341 and #0F0F0E]

The first and second HIGHLIGHT colours control the layer underneath (on mine that's the light part)
[Colours #E6E0D8 and #85827D]

Inner Border sets top layer border, Outer Border sets bottom layer border.

Set "Curves Symmetry" to 0.50
>> This makes the layers the same height, less makes the bottom layer taller, more makes the top layer taller.

Set "Thickness" to 0.85
>> This sets the how much the top layer overlaps the bottom layer from the bottom [You'll see what I mean when you change it]

Everything else is pretty self-explanatory.

Hope that helps.

Oh yeah... to actually get the info icons in the dock, you need to use the AWN indicator applet and AWN notification applet. [AWN > Dock Preferences > Applets]

Then right click on the indicator applet on the AWN dock and choose "Preferences" [NOT Dock Preferences]
Enable Icon Applet mode and set Number of Rows to 1.

Right click the status area icons [in the blank space on the dock just above them], a preferences window should pop-up with which you can tweak how the status icons appear.

To get rid of gnome-panel completely, download Ubuntu Tweak, in Ubuntu Tweak click Session Control. Change the entry for panel [it should be gnome-panel] to "avant-window-navigator" and hit apply and logout / log back in. HOWEVER, you wont be able to use the run dialog if you disable gnome-panel. So if you still want the run dialog, you are better off just setting the gnome-panel to autohide. Or you can use Gmrun (google is your friend) and set a keybinding in Compiz to launch it.

Thankyou very much! :W00t:
I love Droid Sans, best UI font ever.

I'll have a look into the Firefox bug, thanks for pointing it out. I never would have noticed as I use Chromium instead. I'll try and get a fix out soon.

i love this and would like to adapt it to windows if you are willing to share image resources? png/bmp files?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jurialmunkey In reply to Skrell [2010-09-14 14:16:02 +0000 UTC]

Its all pretty much GTKrc code except the scrollbars and window buttons and icons. Any png/bmp used would be in the zip file somewhere. The icons are Faenza.
