yes! we do that with fair regularity these little pretties, gopher snakes, and king snakes...but we leave the rattlers alone!

Thanks, Duncan! I had help from my husband with him holding the stick...the snake wasn't too cooperative at first; then I think it saw its reflection in the lens because it was mesmerized
