Here are some of the fruits of my recent trip to China Town.These pretty little kanzashi are made from colourful seashell beads in golden-orange and pink.

Beautiful! The beads are quite a change from cloth but make the kanzashi even more luxurious and jewel-like. I think this piece could be pretty even with with western-style formalwear for the Japanophilic fashionista. Er...I might have made up those last two words.

Wow, that's pretty cool. I haven't seen anyone doing beads as flowers, though they remind me of the tortuous shell kanzashi geisha (et al) would wear.
