Thank you very much. Photography is one of those things I always find frustrating. So having this photo come out as well as it did was a pleasant surprise more then anything else. I can't count the number of times I've carefully set up for a shoot only to have it not turn out.

Sure, but I could write an essay about and wouldn't want to babble on too much.
The body is made out of polymer clay (like sculpy or fimo) and sculpted over a wire skeleton.
After the sculpting work it done and the piece has been baked I paint it with acrylic. For the doll I normally only do minimal painting because I like the color of the clay to show through. But the stand for this one was completely painted in black.
After it's been painted and things look the way I want them I go ahead and finish it off with some hair or other details like wings. The hair is glued on lock by lock with tacky glue. You can use just about anything for hair but my favorite materials are feathers, tibetan lamb hair, and natural animal fur. The feathers from those fluffy boa scarfs you find in craft stores are lots of fun to use. I personal find that natural fiber is easier to work with then synthetic. On this particular doll the hair was made from 3 different colors of tibetan lamb and a little bit of black feather.

Thank you. Ah, I didn't know Brian Froud by name but I've definitely seen some of his work before. My mom actually has a deck of cards that has his art on them. I love it so much!
And yes, I do sell these little guys. Have to or they would take over the house. Mostly I sell on ebay but it's been awhile since I last listed any. I also sell directly from time to time if it's requested.
