I am kind of curious if they will make it known that Thrawn knows exactly where it is now. I mean he had that map memorized, there's no way he didn't. So all he has to do is look at it, see something off...remember which planet that was, and go blow up the rebels. He is too smart not to do that. Kallus tried, but he really messed up big time on that move. Just don't touch the map. Thrawn wanted you to touch the map, and you did exactly what he wanted.
And even if they had changed a random one to throw him off that would still narrow down the search. The rebels wouldn't want to draw attention to a planet close by their own planet....so he would be able to get rid of all the planets close to that new planet because it's a decoy. Granted it might throw him for a bit, cause he'd have to think to himself. "Would they actually change the right planet? Or a different one to throw us off?" But that wouldn't last too long. Just check out the missing planet, find nothing, and then figure it out. You rebels really underestimated Thrawn here

There's so many reasons why messing with that map wouldn't work (aside from all the ones you listed, what about just comparing it to another map??? It's not like that's the ONLY one in existence or anything, that was just Thrawn's personal copy). I don't know what the show plans on doing, but I'm guessing that won't have fooled Thrawn for long. In the end I think that by trying to cover themselves, they've given themselves away - just like Zeb did with the recon droid in Warhead. Yeah, Thrawn said the map was fine, but I have no doubt under further scrutiny that isn't a 5 second glance, he'll have it sorted. (Obviously, it's going to happen quickly, as we only have 3 episodes left, 2 of which actually deal with Thrawn, so...). In continually trying to cover their tracks, the rebels just keep leaving big clues.

I have a feeling that those episodes are going to be about the empire locking down on their base. Thrawn coming and smiting his foes. Just my personal opinion.
