eek. you're getting better too damn quickly. I'm jealous. *pouts*
love the eyes. totally. is it actually, you know, biologically possible for a person to have violet eyes?

yeah... anime eye and hair colours are just WEIRD.
I saw a guy once on the street, he'd dyed his hair white. it really REALLY suited him.

Wow. White hair! As far as anime hair/eyes go, I'll admit to being fond of yellow eyes.

Anime definitely beautifies people. It's not a great style to use when you're trying to draw someone who isn't beautiful, or flawless, and not make them look ugly.

I know - that's why I've tried to break from my anime origins.

I agree there! For all the weirdness and occasional frustrating aspects, anime is great.

I guess the shading I've done is too subtle to really be seen... Doubt I'll go back to this pic, though.

where is her lipsick and spiked colar?
I wonder whether you should try acrylic paints again. I just have a feeling that they might be more of a pragmatic chpice, especially on large headshot-like pieces.

Good stuff!
How in the world do you do the skin tones without making them so darn blotchy? Thats been giving me a mondo headache lately!

The skin tones here was a complete pain... to get it looking smooth, I used a combinated of the smudge and blur (very sparingly though) tools and also used a very transparent skin shade over the skin area at the end.

There is a drawing i have been obsessing on trying to get the skin colors to look like skin instead of stripey plastic. GRRR it's kicking my butt!
Smudge and blur and the extra transparent layer of skin tones...back to the drawing board..err computer. Thank you L-B!

I frickin' love her hair and eyes. How long did this take in PS?

Glad you appreciate the hair and eyes! They took forever-- though the skin was the biggest pain. I can't say for sure how long this took over PS, but it was a really long time across several days... One eye alone took all morning, and the skin much longer.
