This was a request from my girlfriend Marisol, i did it while i was at work - she wante Alita from Battle Angel Alita: Last Order with wings and a broken one - to make her look more real rather than all bad ass - because as we all know Alita can cry mhm mhm - took me about 45 mins with a mechanical pencil - full view recommended for technique i supposeRelated content

I love the character; her anime video was one of the first that I watched! Superb job(and it only too 45 min!!!)...your girlfriend really must love this great artwork! Your penciling skills are truly inspiring!

I like how this came out. Good job. I like how soft the wings look in comparison to the rest of the drawing. And, as alwasy, great job on the anatomy. Do you use references for poses like this or are you so used to drawing the human form that you don't need it?

it really depends if im just thinking i want to draw something usually i just have to think about how a model might take the pose but for anime its harder so sometimes i use references. this one did have a reference, not perfect but the pose i was asked to draw was actually too hard and i couldnt visualize it so i flipped through a manga to look for a similar but easier pose that was about the same thing so then once i had the idea my head i was all set - just some jumpstarting - but i do hope to get that good so that i can do it on my own
