I was just sitting on my bed yesterday when i started this, it was just an orc riding a demon wolf but in the end i decided to make it for terms sake a warg because even though i like the wargs in lotr ttt movie, i dont think they're correct to the books. Because in the books particularly the hobbit wargs were simply oversized sentient wolves...I dunno just a drawing really, im going to add a snowy forested background soon but i thought i'd put this alone for now - its a tiny tiny bit smaller than this on paper, i did it with a mechanical pencil and a regular HB warnish pencil in about an hour and a half - pretty rough - especially because im not very good at drawing animals especially from memory so im glad i wasnt drawing a real wolf cause then i wouldnt have an excuse hahaRelated content

GOOOOD job, i like this a ton.
We just finished up reading The Hobbit for English class and this helped me a ton in figuring out how i was to draw a warg for my final project.
I love how the face of the warg looks verg detailed and makes it look sort of sketchy, love it!

hahaha im very glad you like it, and yeah i thought it was awesome in the books/movies when they didnt ride horses and that the wargs were intelligent...they didnt show the intelligence very well in the movie or their physicality at least IMO but in the books they were smarter than the damn orcs- tolkien had mentioned that the wargs would have build a vast empire had it not been for their lack of thumbs...lol its interesting cause the wargs are still awesome...

I think they did the wargs OK ish in the movie. Oversized sentient wolves under the command of Sauron, then they would understandably by warped and twisted like most animals under his rule. But thing is they are under Saruman in the movie..except for in the ROTK when that general has one.
I like this, its very well shaded and drawn.

yeah i agree, i think the wargs were awesome in the movie, i just didnt think they were intelligent...they reminded me of kodiak bears crossed with hyenas...lol i know that sounds retarded but they were still cool, i think i took the twisting to be more of a mental one in the books, but im just weird

I think it would be both. The wargs encountered by Bilbo and company would have probably been less twisted physically for they are further away from the physical hardships of Mordor. Indeed all wargs are intelligent it seems but that just didnt come across in the movies.
