If he thinks something is too troublesome, too boring, too hard, too anything-he-doesn’t-like, he won’t do it. For example, he won’t study cause it’s too troublesome, too boring, and too hard. When his mother was alive, he studied diligently in order to please her, but after she died the pretense was no more. However, he also hates being shown up, so he studies on his own time to remain more intelligent than others.

Zhen is very flirtatious, talkative, annoying, and he loves to flip the meanings of sentences around to something perverted, when he can think of one. He has absolutely no shame and doesn’t hold back when he talks about the subject of intercourse, even when there’re kids around.

He often played in the courtyard with the snow to entertain himself while listening to his mother play her instruments in her room. She normally left the sliding door open so she could watch him outside. Zhen had friends of course, but he preferred to spend time with his mother. His life revolved around her.

Zhen worked hard to please his mother and he loved it whenever she was happy. He often asked his mother what would make her happy that day, and whatever her answer was he’d do it. He would try to get whatever she wanted and do whatever she wanted him to do. Even if he hated studying, he’d study for her. He really was mommy’s boy.

One particular thing that Zhen loved to do with his mother was dance with her. His mother was a dancer. There were two passions in his mother’s life: medicine and dancing. However, as time went by, it kept on getting worse, and it wouldn't go away no matter how many herbs or treatments he tried. She died in the winter, unable to fight any longer, four months after Zhen's birthday. He never cries anymore, and often says that his tears were used up on the day that his mom died. There were many that tried to comfort him, but the day after the funeral, he was already back to normal, smiles and all. The only thing that changed was the fact that he didn’t do a lot of things that “society” expected him to do. His mother was the only person that he’d listen to and please. Now that she was gone, the only person that he had to please was himself.

Zhen's name is actually a girl's. (This is something I just found out.) But I really liked the name, and thought that Zhen having a girl's name would fit him anyways. sue me

He actually loves his androgynous appearance, because when he does dances that were meant for girls, it doesn't look weird.
