Description It's been a long time since I've done one of these bionicle related diagrams, and I was finally inspired last night.

Figure 1 is the main diagram. The muscle brake attaches to the back of the drive gear and helps achieve greater precision. The shoulder gears can be engaged or disengaged from the main one by the mounting piston extending and retracting.

The Bionic heart works like an engine and recirculates natural hydraulic fluid. Like a human heart has electrically resistant cells at the bottom to prevent impulses controlling it from looping around the muscle and causing arrhythmia, the Toa (and many other Bionicle species) have a crystalline LED resistor. It shines and glows in accordance to the force the heart is producing.

Figure 2 shows how the trachea splits above the driveshaft and then goes down to the lungs.

Figure 3 is a mini diagram of the Bionic Piston, which is a modular organ. Inside the larger of the balljoints there is a heart-like muscle which controls the position of the solid metal rod.

Figure 4 demonstrates some of the range of motion available with the gears still engaged.

Figure 5 is about the two box-like halves that form a torso shell similar to our ribcage, which allows the lungs to expand.

Does a car live in agony?

Where did I depict gears and muscle contacting each other?

I got a question for ya, why aren't our bones in constant agony from being ground around inside the joints and sockets of our body?

Interesting to see gears actually incorporated in parts of a physical layout; they're a part of Bionicle anatomy that I haven't figured out how to reasonably include myself. I just kind of tossed them aside as a concession to Bionicle's Technic heritage, but their deployment here does make a good degree of sense to me. The same for the organically articulated pistons... I'm not sure how fast something like that could realistically be articulated, but it's a neat concept.
